ROBBERG NATURE RESERVE is one of the most recognisable and traversed peninsulas in the world, which is an absolutely must visit!
Robberg Nature Reserve is a World Heritage site and national monument, steeped in history, with prehistoric rocks and Stone Age artefacts, dating back 120 million years. The picturesque peninsula is home to a wealth of fynbos, flora and ocean life, all of which dazzle the senses, as well as a massive seal colony.
Robberg is said to be one of the only places in the world to view great white sharks, from land, in their natural habitat. On a clear day, you are likely to spot them slowly making their way around the bay. Choose to hike the different trails, each with its own degree of difficulty, but all with unique beauty and scenery.
I highly recommend the 5.5km trail, as you cross a beautiful sand dune which leads to the other side of the reserve. KNYSNA ELEPHANT PARK was the first facility in South Africa to house and care for orphaned African elephants. Over the last twenty years, the park has cared and raised more than forty elephants.
Responsible and educational interactions allow guests to appreciate the awe-inspiring presence of these animals, but still give the elephants the space and their natural habitat freedom.
Your elephant encounter begins in the Interpretation Centre where you are introduced to the elephants through beautiful photographic and informative displays.
The guides will then introduce you to the herd, where you have an opportunity to feed and walk freely amongst them.

MONKEYLAND SANCTUARY is the world’s first free-roaming, multi-species primate sanctuary, covering an area of 30 acres of indigenous forest and providing ex-captive primates a healthier, more natural lifestyle.
Over the course of their tour – which are referred to as “monkey safaris”, you will spot over 550 primates including gibbons, howler monkeys, vervet monkeys, langurs, sakis, capuchins, squirrel monkeys, spider monkeys, ring-tailed lemurs and the critically endangered black and white ruffed lemurs.
The 128-metre suspension bridge, which runs through the forest canopy, gives you the chance to see these primates from another perspective.

RAPTOR RESCUE PLETT is a rehabilitation and awareness centre dedicated to birds of prey, servicing the conservation needs of the area by providing a sanctuary for injured and orphaned birds, who are released wherever possible.
The rehabilitation work is predominantly funded through admissions to the centre and your support in visiting them is greatly appreciated.
Join them on a 1-hour guided tour of the centre, where you will learn about the resident birds, raptor species and the conservation risks they face, as well as experience some of their trained birds at flight.
Tours are educational, yet fun, ensuring that you and your children’s attention and imagination are captured.
